ABOUT THE AUTHOR
James G. Lenhart, MD, FAAFP, MPH

One of America's most accomplished family physicians, James Lenhart claims Montana as his birthplace. He was raised in Helena and received his early education from the University of Montana. He graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, took residency in Family Medicine at Brown University, and completed an academic medicine fellowship at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. In 2010, James earned a Master's of Public Health from the University of Liverpool, England where he researched the social determinants of health and health policy. He Board Certified in Family Medicine in 1979 and Sports Medicine in 1999.

Dr. Lenhart holds the distinction of Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians and in 2007 was named Nevada's outstanding family doctor. In addition to many years in the private practice of medicine, Dr. Lenhart has held academic positions as full professor of Family Medicine at the University of Nevada, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and the University of Arizona. From 2007-2009, he served as Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences Academic Affairs in the Nevada System of Higher Education. "Dr. Jim" hosted Dr. Jim's Healthline Today, KSNV Las Vegas' NBC affiliate health headline segment, which reached intermountain markets of over 3 million viewers and gained national exposure to the 37 million tourists who visited Las Vegas annually between 2010 and 2013. For his contributions to the advancement of Hispanic cultures, Dr. Lenhart was selected to The Latino American Who's Who in 2011. He now cares for the underserved in Tacoma and writes from his home overlooking Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Writing with unrelenting candor, Lenhart's fictional works are inspired by true stories and real life characters gathered from over 30 years of patient care, healthcare experiences and academic medical center rituals. Conversations for Paco is his debut novel.

James is married to his beloved wife Nancy and is the father of two grown children.
