There is an ongoing debate on whether corporate governance systems of major economies are converging towards common standards. Some academics argue that globalization will lead to a single corporate governance model which is quite similar to the Anglo-American one (e.g. Coffee, 1999). Other academics argue that such a globalization will not happen (e.g. Branson, 2000). The goal of this work is to introduce the development of corporate governance systems in the last two decades, and to find out if there is a relationship between globalization's degree and convergence.
