Donald Shorter nació en Nueva Orleans, Luisiana, hijo del Pastor Roosevelt y Mary Shorter. A la edad de 12 años Don nació de nuevo, y a los 18 aceptó su llamado al ministerio. While attending Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington, he met a beautiful young lady, the former Kathy Lynette Hill, who later became his wife in July 1974. Upon completion of college, Dr. Shorter embarked upon a highly successful secular radio and television broadcasting career as a television host on the Seattle, Washington ABC affiliates. However, his call to the ministry remained the impetus in his life, and in January 1987, with his family of four, Pastor Shorter founded Pacific Christian Center Church. Dr. Shorter received his master's in business administration in 1993, was ordained by Dr. Frederick K. C. Price in 1994, and received his doctorate of ministry in 1999.
