Nowadays, distributed power generation systems from renewable energy sources are continuously increasing, and consequently so are the inverters used to interface them to the grid. For this reason, the topic of inverter control is more relevant than ever. Nowadays, distributed power generation systems from renewable energy sources are continuously increasing, and consequently so are the inverters used to interface them to the grid. For this reason, the topic of inverter control is more relevant than ever. In particular, this book considers the problems that arise in the regulation following dissymmetrical disturbances of the network. The classical control systems, in fact, do not allow to properly regulate and saturate the output current of the converter in such situations, with the possibility of causing the disconnection from the network. The first part of the discussion focuses on a general overview of the traditional control systems used in distributed generation systems, highlighting their limitations in the presence of an asymmetry in the network. Once framed the problem, we proceed to illustrate the possible solutions, first from the mathematical point of view and then from that of simulations and tests on test benches.
