This study is about the contribution of non-farm activity in rural household food security in ¿nderta woreda. The main objective of this study is to examine the contribution of non-farm activities in rural household¿s food security in the woreda. This study incorporates both primary and secondary data sources. The data collection methods were questioner and interview as primary source of data. This study tries to identify the contribution of non-farm activity in food security. The sampling techniques used in this study are simple random sampling and judgmental sampling method to select participants of non-farm activity and non-participants of non-farm activity respectively. The researcher used descriptive method of data analysis. So, the researcher used tables and percentages to interpret the results. From this the researcher concludes that, non-farm activity is an important sector to achieve food security for the households in the woreda. However, the sector faces many challenges like: shortage of area to practice the activity, low government support, shortage of finance, low credit access and shortage of mark.
