This work was developed thinking about the process of continuing teacher education, which studies, part of a historical context of the city of Marau/RS, problematizing the different training events offered by the Government - through the Municipal Department of Education - to teachers of that municipal education network in the historical cut of a decade (2000 - 2010). This research intends, therefore, to analyze concrete processes of continued teacher training, from the specific study of training events organized in a municipal public network. To do so, the research was anchored in the document analysis aiming at establishing a look on the methodological procedures and contents worked in the training events in relief. Also, a thematic bibliographic review, referencing authors who treat continuing education through a critical prism, in addition to a parallel with some of the legal documents and guidelines that support continuing teacher education, such as the LDB, the Municipal Career Plan, CONAE, and the Federal Constitution.
