The purpose of this study is to discuss the theory and practice of Confucianism in the training of English majors under the guidance of the new National English Standard and the Teaching Guide. Firstly, through reinterpreting the traditional Confucian thought, we can make it more in line with the needs of the current era and social reality. Youguo Duan, an associate professor in the School of Foreign Studies, Yangtze University, is teaching Buisness English writing. Meanwhile, he is interested in the study of linguistics, Chinese traditional thoughts, foreign language teaching and learning. Till the present, he has issued about 30 research papers and got 3 books published.
