Akankwasah is a Natural Resources Management expert currently working in the department of Wildlife Conservation, Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Kampala. He is the current Scientific Councillor for Uganda to the Convention on Migratory Species of Wildlife and Uganda's National Focal point for UNEP/AEWA and UNEP Gorilla Agreement.
