Il dottor Somo M.L. Seimu è tanzaniano e ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca presso la Central Lancashire University, un master (Cardiff University) e una laurea in Scienze dell'educazione (Dar Es Salaam University). Per oltre un decennio ha lavorato come docente presso la Moshi Co-operative University, in Tanzania. Ha anche insegnato nelle scuole secondarie in Tanzania per 12 anni.
