Erstmal zu Optik und Haptik: Dem Verlag entsprechend ist dieses Buch wieder ein Genuss! Der feste Einband, die sehr gute Bindung sowie das kräftige Papier lassen dieses Buch zu einem Coffeetable-Book werden. Zudem ist die Gestaltung der Buchseiten ebenfalls gelungen. Die Autos erhalten genügend Raum, wurden aus tollen Blickwinkeln fotografiert und das beste Licht dafür genutzt. Auch die kurzen Beschreibungen sind stimmig, wenn auch hier und da nicht ganz vollständig.
Wir durchreisen hier insgesamt 60 Jahre Autobau. Die Auswahl der „vermeintlichen Classics“ ist aber leider absolut Geschmacksache. Gerade bei Rolls Royce gab es auch in den 60er, 70er und 80er Jahren wahre Autoträume. Die wurden hier erst gar nicht weiter erwähnt. Das könnte man mit einigen anderen Marken fortführen. Wenn man es genau betrachtet ist es wohl die Lieblingsliste unseres Autors selbst. Simon de Burton scheint hier seine ganz persönlichen Favoriten in Szene gesetzt zu haben. Hier geht es sehr viel um amerikanische Marken oder um Nischenmodelle. Hier hätte ich mir mehr Auswahl gewünscht. Nochmal: alles ist hier reine Geschmacksache und somit kann ich für mich klar sagen, hatte ich andere Erwartungen an das Buch. 2,5 neutrale Sterne hierfür
