It also acquaints them with the nature as well as power and duties of the government. The major role of civics and ethical education is to produce a 'good citizen'. A good citizen, as explained by Akalewold (2005), is a citizen who understands properly the problem of their country, understand the citizenry obligation to make personal contribution equipped with good ethical and democratic culture.
