Adverse drug reaction constitute a significant health problem with deleterious consequences for the patient as well as for society. Suspected ADRs have been reported to occur in about 2- 14% of hospitalized patients. When a pharmaceutical drug is approved for marketing, the drug is tested only on a limited number of patients for a limited time period in a controlled environment.
