""Children of the Frost"" is a collection of short stories written by the famous American writer Jack London. The book features eight stories that are set in the harsh and unforgiving environment of the Yukon and Alaska during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The stories explore the lives of the people who lived in these remote areas and the challenges they faced in their daily lives. The characters in the stories are often forced to confront their own mortality and the brutal realities of life in the wilderness. Some of the stories feature themes of survival, while others explore the complexities of human relationships and the struggle for power and control. Overall, ""Children of the Frost"" is a compelling and thought-provoking collection of stories that offers readers a glimpse into the lives of those who lived on the edge of civilization in the frozen north.""""And further, O Gnob, thou art chief of the Tana-naw; and I, Keesh, the son of Keesh, am chief of the Thlunget. Wherefore, when my seed springs from the loins of thy daughter, there shall be a friendship between the tribes, a great friendship, and Tana-naw and Thlunget shall be brothers of the blood in the time to come. What I have said I will do, that will I do. And how is it with you, O Gnob, in this matter?""This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Autorenporträt
John Griffith "Jack" London (1876 - 1916) was an American novelist, journalist and social activist. A pioneer in the then-burgeoning world of commercial magazine fiction, he was one of the first fiction writers to obtain worldwide celebrity and a large fortune from his fiction alone. Some of his most famous works include The Call of the Wild and White Fang, both set in the Klondike Gold Rush, as well as the short stories "To Build a Fire", "An Odyssey of the North" and "Love of Life". He also wrote of the South Pacific in such stories as "The Pearls of Parlay" and "The Heathen", and of the San Francisco Bay area in The Sea Wolf.
