One of the most beloved sportscasters of all time, Chick Hearn introduced the game of basketball to a city and introduced the world of hoops to a new vernacular, inventing phrases like slam dunk, a word's-eye view, and faked him into the popcorn machine. As popular as Chick was, there has never been a book done on his life ... until now. Chick: His Unpublished Memoirs and the Memories of Those Who Loved Him will include the completed portion of an autobiography he was working on with Los Angeles Times sportswriter Steve Springer. Also included will be stories--some touching and heartwarming, some hilarious--about this legendary Hall of Fame broadcaster who employed his wit and creativity to describe sporting events ranging from football to golf to boxing. Included with the book will be an audio CD of Chick's greatest calls. To the three generations who listened to him faithfully, this will be a final opportunity to hear Chick--both his views and his voice--and to pass his legacy on to the next generation.
