Autorenporträt
Vicki's fantasy romantic suspense series, The Afterworld Chronicles, launched with Chest of Bone. The second novel, Chest of Stone, hits shelves Nov. 2017. Her mystery/thrillers-Body Parts, The Dead Stone, The Grief Shop, a Daphne du Maurier winner, and The Bone Man, a du Maurier finalist-feature homicide counselor Tally Whyte. All are now in ebook format. Tapping into her love of knitting, she wrote Chest of Bone The Knit Collection, a pattern book based on her novel and in collaboration with Karen Clements, Norah Gaughan, and Rosemary Hill. She also co-wrote (with Lisa Souza) 10 Secrets of the LaidBack Knitters. Vicki and her late husband, William G. Tapply, ran The Writers Studio workshops. She grew up in professional theater-the Ivoryton Playhouse-and planned to become an actress. Instead, she's slung hamburgers, managed a scuba shop, and became a college professor. She's a mom to two wonderful humans and a furry pack. Her passions for scuba diving, fly fishing, and knitting pop up in her novels. As do vinho verde, bourbon, Maine lobster, and chocolate, not necessarily in that order. She sings musical comedy scores in the shower, unfortunately not an Equity venue, and she writes daily. She adores teaching, having taught fiction and modern media writing at Clark University, and so she mentors writers and students in a variety of writing genres. Currently, she's playing with her pup, Penny, going wild in L.A., and pounding the keys on the series' third novel, Chest of Air.
