Particular attention is paid to artistic peculiarities of Chekhov's epistolary works and their individual linguistic stylistics. The factual material, theoretical provisions and conclusions of the study can be used in the study of the Russian literary process of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries, as well as in subsequent studies of problematic issues of the epistolary heritage of the writer.
