This paper presents the results of the study of the writing skills of 295 primary school children from a school in the municipality of San Cristobal, who were given the corresponding test from the Neuropsychological Diagnostic Battery of the University of Havana (DNUH). The general characteristics of these children in terms of skill development are shown, obtaining as main results that the applied test shows the level of development of writing skills as the schooling of the subjects advances, the biological maturation of children together with the teacher's work plays an important role in the development of writing, manifesting itself in a progressive increase in this ability. The right-handed subjects obtained better results than left-handed subjects, the procedure used for the study of the reliability of the test confirmed that the instrument is reliable and therefore its results provide us with valuable information about the object of study. At the same time, some suggestions are offered to teachers. Percentiles for age, sex and schooling are also provided.
