Financial inclusion, has been a priority for Indian government since a long time in order to provide access to financial services to the economically weaker sections of the society. The economy can achieve a holistic progress through financial inclusion. Moreover, digitization is the key to faster, cost-effective means to financial inclusion. Very few studies have been done in India to understand its scope and impact in improving financial inclusion. Thus the author has attempted to fulfill this gap by studying digital opportunities, risks and penetration level and suggest strategies for digital innovation and adoption that can boost financial inclusion. The book highlights financial inclusion initiatives taken by government and RBI and also focuses on various efforts of banks and challenges that they face in implementing financial inclusion. A global comparative study of financial inclusion initiatives of other countries has also been undertaken. It is expected that the study would benefit banking and other professionals in financial services industry, government and RBI officials as well as academia and research fraternity interested to carry out further research in this area.
