President Touadéra is taking advantage of the military-political chaos to lead the 2020-2021 electoral process.Upon his re-election, he wants to modify the 2016 Constitution, in order to develop the Central African Republic trampled by colonialism. This decision, rejected by the Court, was poorly received by President Touadéra who decided to sanction certain constitutional judges and the Court became a triptych, decried by the BRDC, the rebel leaders and the international community.However, President Touadéra, supported by the Republican Front, made a strong move and submitted a new law to the constitutional referendum of July 30, 2023. This, very popular, was voted on at a rate of 95.03%, paving the way to his own succession in 2025. From then on, an endless political standoff began between President Touadéra and the BRDC.
