Die Autorin hat Indien mehrfach beruflich und privat bereist. Zuletzt war die Sozialpädagogin für ein vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung geförderten Jugend- und Schulbauprojekt im südindischen Karnataka tätig. Christiane Schlenner lebt und arbeitet heute in Kiel, wo sie psychisch erkrankte Menschen betreut.
