Carbosulfan (25%EC) is an extensively used carbamate insecticide in India and also in Andhra Pradesh. Such type of pesticides are washed through surface runoff into the low lying areas where agricultural and Aquaculture practices are performed. Regarding the effect on non-target organisms contamination have been carried out through out the surrounding areas. In this context present work has been undertaken to investigate the impact of Carbosulfan (25%EC),which is one among used pesticides in this area the commercially valuable fish Labeo rohita (Hamilton) .Toxicity methodology adopted and experimentation of Carbosulfan (25%EC) to the fresh water fish,L.rohita, for 96 hrs in static renual system to determine the lethal concentration LC50 and oxygen consumption of the test fish L.rohita respiration for a period of 22 hrs .A gradual decrease observed in the oxygen consumption was noticed throughout the exposure period. The Enzymatic activity observed in the vital organ tissues like gill, liver, muscle, kidney and brain .They are glycogen, total proteins, nucleic acids,Deoxyribose Nucleic acid (DNA) and Ribose Nucleic acid (RNA),Amino transferases SGOT/AAT,SGPT/ALAT.
