There have been previous studies that evaluate the strategic, intertheater airlift needs of the United States, but few recent studies have concentrated on the tactical, intratheater airlift requirements. This research paper explores that requirement, specifically as it relates to fulfilling the emerging requirements necessary for the transformation efforts of the U.S. Army to be successful.
