Marian Schiefer Vance was born in Bucyrus and is currently the director of development for the Preservation Ohio, a programming consultant for Historic Preservation Leadership, on the board of the Ohio Historical Society, and a member of the Capital Square Review and Advisory Board. She just finished a two-year term as president of the Columbus Landmarks Foundation, served as the president of the Ohio Preservation Alliance, and was the director of Scenic Ohio. She has written several pieces on Ohio history throughout her career.
