Arnims hauptsächlicher Briefpartner in diesen beiden Jahren war Clemens Brentano. Außerdem sind in diesem Band Korrespondenzen mit Brentanos Frau Sophie, geb. Mereau, mit dessen Schwester Bettina sowie Briefe an Goethe von herausragender Bedeutung.
