The author has in simple language made it possible to understand the role of the Indian Army in guarding its frontiers. The book indeed is a reference work for anyone wishing to delve deeper and do research on the origin of borders that India inherited at independence, the present status the sacrifices made and the continuing vigil that is required in challenging environments of not so friendly neighbors.
