It took fifty-three years to approach my life challenge-each step was very painful. However, on the other side of the pain came joy, peace and happiness. It is a never-ending process. I could have chosen the "easy" way out and continued with my alcohol and drug use, never disclosing that I was female trapped inside the body of a male. I have slowly released the misery as I became willing to speak the truth buried deeply within my spirit. I transitioned on the job while working for Philip Morris in a high profile, managerial position. I also founded the James River Transgender Society in Virginia. This book explains the physical and emotional challenges that I traveled on the road of becoming my true self. Today, I am a 60-year-old woman and grandmother, living a normal life in the proper body.
