Laurence found her love for cooking at a young age. After graduating from the New England Culinary Institute, she first honed her chef skills in two Michelin-rated restaurants in Les-Baux-de-Provence, France and the renowned Zuni Cafe in San Francisco. Her passion for teaching about food and cooking led her to accept a teaching position at the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont, where she instructed professional culinary students during the day and home cooks in the evenings. It was teaching home cooks that led to the creation of the Blue Jean Chef brand. Determined to make cooking accessible and fun to everyone of all skill levels, interests, and budgets, the Blue Jean Chef cookbooks and videos were created to help people become comfortable and confident in their own kitchen.
