Acute and Chronic Renal Failure is one of the most frequent and potentially life-threatening complications ever to inflict humans. Bloodlines Connected present novel insights into the pathway to hemodialysis and other options for quality of life and its implications. Also mentioned are allograft transplantation, rejection, and complications through immunosuppressive drugs. Recognized also in this work are the subsequent secondary effects of the medications of patients and their blood monitoring through dialysis and pre and post-transplant molecular tests. Bloodlines Connected is an actual first-person testimony of nearly thirty-eight years with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), including twenty surgeries, nine of which are renal related. It also includes my experience with almost thirteen years of hemodialysis. I passionately believe I have a story to tell. Bloodlines Connected present boldly the confrontations with three cadaver kidney transplants and its subsequent complications. It is intended to help the novice understand the reality and complexity of renal failure. It mediates my familiarity with a native Arterio-Venous Fistula (AVF) and the difficulties with a tunneled catheter and an Arterio-Venous Graft (AVG). Bloodlines Connected is intended to help the novice understand the reality of a second chance at life and of a God who never loses control over his creation or even of the daily circumstances of our diverse situations. Through it all, the reader can actually sense the awesome providence and power of God working through every aspect and situation of the writer's personal life and trials. Bloodlines Connected stresses the importance of how compliance with dialysis, a renal diet regimen, transplant medications and follow-up clinic visits and treatments can be greatly rewarded. It portrays the glorious opportunity of a second chance at life through the intermediary of living, cadaveric, or expanded criteria organ donation and transplantation, and of the possibility of regaining health and self-worth to a higher degree. I have the assurance that this book will not only offer a deep personal satisfaction but a greater public apprehension and consideration of the renal community of kidney patients. It informs about the importance of organ awareness and the increasing need in our medical society for the chosen fields in Nephrology.
