Capt. Richard C. Knott, USN (Ret.), holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees and is a graduate of the Naval War College. He is a recipient of the Admiral Arthur W. Radford Award for Excellence in Naval Aviation History and Literature and the Alfred Thayer Mahan Award for Literary Achievement and was the National Air and Space Museum's Adjunct Ramsey Fellow for 1999.
