Marcelle Roujade was born in Guadeloupe in the French West Indies. After coming to England in the 1980s to study English for six months, Marcelle met a man and fell in love within a week of her arrival. Little did she know, he was her future husband. She has been living in Ladbroke Grove ever since and is now the mother is two amazing children. She has a career in the aviation industry and hopes her story will encourage young people to go into aviation no matter the setback. Black Boy Can't Fly? is based on real life experiences she went through with her son who decided to follow in her footsteps and embrace a career within the field of aviation. This is an inspiring adventure of a boy's determination to fulfil his dream and become a commercial pilot. Marcelle believes that with the right tools, knowledge and support, no matter our start, we can achieve anything our heart desires.
