Our patients' health may be vitally affected if we proceed with dental treatment without the knowledge of the medications they are taking. The newest medications to result in devastating dental effects are the bisphosphonates, which are used for various ailments( e.g., osteoporosis). Role of MMP in BRONJ. This book not only provides information about the side effects of bisphosphonates but also lay emphasis to the beneficial role of this drug other than its main function of bone loss inhibition (e.g.,host modulation, as an analgesic etc.).
