The present investigation was undertaken to develop appropriate tissue culture technology as a non-conventional method for mass multiplication of economically important bamboo Drepanostachyum falcatum. A detailed stepwise procedure was developed for micropropagation of Drepanostachyum falcatum and to see the effect of bioremediation on Drepanostachyum falcatum in different treatment combinations of soil. As tissue culture technique provide alternative technique for plant production either for increasing the planting stock. With this aim it is propose to use tissue culture technique for multiplication of Hill bamboo and to determine the effect of bioremediation on the growth of Hill bamboo (Drepanostachyum falcatum) with a view of providing information on the attendants' effects on the growth characteristics of Hill bamboo, which is widely growing once upon a time in hilly areas of Uttarakhand, India.
