The core of this book focuses on the Lidar Data Viewer (LDV) method compared with TreeVaW method and how it is effective in tree mapping that is the process matching Lidar-derived tree top with ground-derived tree base. The tree mapping will help create regression models fitting tree ground DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) on Lidar-derived height applying to two major species in redwood stands: redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) and Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii). Then DBHs extracted from models are used to estimate stand biomass using Jenkins's formula approved by U.S forest service.

Autorenporträt
Having taught at the Agro-Forestry University in Saigon. At Humboldt State University, California I study advantages of LIDAR techniques over others in forest mensuration and now I work for Pacific South West Research Station of U.S forest Service in Redding, California as an expert in LiDAR application to forest inventory and biomass estimation.
