Biogas is important Bioenergy and it refers to a mixture of gases produced by breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen. It is one of the most mature energy sources in terms of years of use and can be used for production of heat, electricity and mechanical energy. The present work has been undertaken to study importance of Bioenergy, Biomass, and Biofuels mainly Biogas. The emphasis is given on process of biogas production, microorganisms involved,design of biogas plant, operational problems, benefits and drawbacks of biogas technology. Project work includes the detail study of biogas production from wastes.
