The lack of teaching materials for bilingual classes is another drawback which affects bilingual education in Mozambique and hence the major problem of this work: The cases study for the production of this book is characterized by lack of teaching materials when it comes to teaching in a local language. The teachers usually resort to locally improvised materials to teach the students in Cithsuwa. Associated with the lack of teaching materials, the fact that the teachers who work with bilingual teachers were not trained in the language they should work is one of the biggest hindrance for the success of bilingual education because the students get to grade 6 with serious problems to read and write in both, Portuguese and Cithsuwa.
