Autorenporträt
As the founder and director of The MINDset Center, Dr. Shreya Hessler has used her specialization to create a series of books designed to help kids and caregivers navigate through different issues. After years of putting authorship aside, her debut children's book, "Bianca Finds Her Bounce", is not only fun, but helps kids and parents deal with anxiety in an effective and creative manner. By opting to create a picture book, Dr. Hessler presents behaviors that kids can not only relate to, but actually see themselves as a participant. In addition to her therapy practice, Dr. Hessler has been an affiliate member of the faculties at Towson University and Loyola University in Maryland and has taught psychology courses both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In recent years, she has worked with youth athletes and consulted with sports programs to create healthy environments for athletic development. Dr. Hessler frequently presents locally and around the country on anxiety and behavior management. Dr. Hessler also volunteers her time as a member of the Local Management Board of Harford County and as a board member of the Maryland Psychological Association. She is currently the President Elect for the Maryland Psychological Association with her term beginning in the Fall, 2018.
