The events that follow are the bounty from which blogs are born. Our first year is spent adjusting and settling. The blog, Yelapa Memo, begins after our return the second season. Be forewarned, all anecdotes bear a sprinkling of creativity; yet always include some thread of truth. We experience warm and friendly people, incredible food and drink, and a physical environment right out of the Nature Channel. To assist those, like us, who consider resettling internationally for a portion of their golden years, I offer a dedicated section "Retiring in Yelapa." The information is generic and applies to re-settling anywhere in the world. Let the adventure begin! Welcome to Yelapa. Bienvenido a Yelapa.
Autorenporträt
DW Risdon is a former financial manager turned English teacher. He and his wife, Dianne, visited Yelapa and then returned to spend the majority of the next four years as long term visitors. During that time, they surrounded themselves with wonderful people, an active evolving culture, all framed within the spectacular sights and sounds of the surrounding jungle. In addition to this book, under the pen name of Yelapa Memo, he has also written the nine edition bilingual series of The Adventures with Teo-Las Aventuras con Teo. These beautifully illustrated editions also feature local sounds which compliment the stories. These are the adventures of a real boy, in a real place. The experiences are available to all who visit Yelapa.
