This book gives readers a challenging foundation on which to discuss their faith with unbelievers of all categories by admitting there are many things faith and science have in common, while holding to basic Biblical tenants of truth. Conflict resolution. Perceived conflict between science and faith is actually between science and religion; there is a significant difference that has rarely been emphasized throughout history. To remove time from this discussion since time is only relative to the earth. While this book covers some of the ground discussed in other publications, the breadth of this book is much more expansive going back before the point both science and faith say it all began and ended. The book encourages the reader to think beyond what they have been taught to believe. Part of that new thinking involves an understanding that it is "okay" to ask questions about God; any question. An emphasis is placed on solutions, not problems. The book is written on a timeline, not specific to dates, but chronologically. A good overall summary is written into Dr. Thomas' Forward in the book: Between 2 Breaths ... the Seasons of Creation is an expansive book on theology and science covering Genesis to Revelations. Bob asks, "Who is right, faith or science?" He notes that Christians feel they are in a position where they have to reject science to accept the Bible. His book takes four major themes, theology-God, Christology-Christ, ecclesiology-the church, and eschatology-the coming of Christ (which he presents as four seasons), and examines each area in the light of faith and science. His goal is to create a platform for dialogue and discussion about what the Bible says and what science believes. I believe this book provides a way for Christians to think about their Christian faith in the context of a science-based world. Bob gives his readers ways to think about their faith and not reject commonly held secular views about our world and universe. Between 2 Breaths gives its readers new ways to think about the stories of the Bible, presenting new understanding about Christian faith and the challenges of science. Rev. Dr. Lynndon L. Thomas, Director of Global Missions Cumberland Presbyterian Church
