Returning to civilian life they lived several years in New Jersey and eventually in Lansing, Kansas.When their sons were young Helen was a stay at home mom. Later she became the secretary and bookkeeper for St. Francis de Sales Church in Lansing where she and her husband have lived for 36 years.Helen has compiled a book of her early poems, "Tender Loving Care". She and her husband have hand sewn and hand bound copies that she has given to family and friends. She has also been working on poems of reflection for the Gospel readings for Cycles A and C.
