Although my father experienced a physical and mental healing from God, I am sad to say that he did not succeed in fully realizing his manhood; and that fact greatly affected my life. Like many men today, I was left deficient in my understanding of how to Be a Man, and that is why I wrote this book. It contains my story, detailing my struggle in growing up, my choice not to be victimized by the circumstances surrounding my life, and the deliberate steps I have taken to grow into manhood. Be a Man is a practical book of truths, with discussion questions at the end of each chapter. As you read through this book, following the guide and reading the recommended scriptures, my prayer is that you will discover a new relationship with God and reposition your life in true manhood. Mel Mullen and his wife, Heather, founded Home Church in 1972. Today, the church is an ever-growing, multi-site church with over one hundred locations around the world. Mel and Heather continue to serve the vision of Home Church Canada under the direction of their son and daughter-in-law, Jachin and Becca, who are now the lead pastors. They also travel extensively, giving oversight to Home Church locations in many nations. They speak regularly at conferences, leadership events, and churches in the larger body of Christ. Their vision is to fulfill the Great Commission, make disciples of Jesus, train leaders, and build God's great church in the world.
