Characters in this fast-paced novel are exquisitely drawn: A beautiful scientist from Germany who is the new Assistant Director of the Gulf Coast Level 4 Biological Lab; the Secretary of Homeland Security, in Galveston for a routine inspection; Islamic terrorists intent on revenge against the Secretary; and Parker-a former Army Intel officer with a personal vendetta against one of the terrorists.
