In India there is a vast repository of medicinal plants that are used in traditional medicinal system (Chopra et al., 1952). Herbal formulation may be strong source for alternative medicine system because these medicines are already available. There is only need to establish it scientifically.Our present study was oriented towards alternative medicine and utilization of traditional medicinal system for cardiovascular disease especially in atherosclerosis through herbal formulations from the Thar Desert region of Indian subcontinent.
