Autorenporträt
Atelier Archmixing was founded by ZHUANG Shen and REN Hao in July, 2009, and were subsequently joined by partners TANG Yu and ZHU Jie. HUA Xiahong serves as academic advisor. As a pioneering Chinese independent architectural studio, Atelier Archmixing devotes itself to a combination of design, research and theoretical reflection in the context of Chinese rapid urbanization. Their design work has won both domestic and international awards, including "the 1st prize of Design Experiment Award", issued by World Architecture China; "the 3rd prize in the Technological Progress Award", issued by ASSC; "Best Commercial Building Award", issued by American Journal Businessweek/ Architectural Record; "Outstanding Achievement in Construction Management Award", issued by CIOB; "the silver medal of DFA Design of Asia Awards" "Interior Architecture Honor Award of AIA Shanghai Beijing Design". They have been featured in international magazines such as Domus, A+U, Architectural Design, Architectural Research Quarterly and local academic journals including Architectural Journal, The Architect, Time+Architecture, World Architecture, and online platforms such as Archdaily, Gooood etc., and exhibited at the Venice Biennale Architectural, La Thiennal Di Milano, SUSAS, Shenzhen & Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism Architecture. Atelier Archimixing has published more than 50 academic papers, participated in one Chinese National Science Fund project, and obtained five certificates of national utility model patents.
