This book immerses the reader in the journey Jesus takes when He enters Jerusalem during the final week of His life and ministry. Produktbeschreibung
This book immerses the reader in the journey Jesus takes when He enters Jerusalem during the final week of His life and ministry. Each day the reader is transported back in time and into the moments with Jesus as He teaches the crowds, travels to familiar places in Jerusalem with His disciples, and confronts the religious leaders and Pharisees. Using familiar Scripture passages from the NET version of the Bible as the jumping off point, each day of Lent challenges the reader to consider what they know or believe about the events of Jesus' last week on earth. Much more than a devotional, At His Dusty Feet invites readers into each moment with Jesus to experience the events with Him as if they are one of the disciples. From the triumphal entry into Jerusalem, to the parables He tells the crowds and the confrontations He has with the Pharisees, readers are placed in the scene with Jesus and the narrator so readers take things in on a whole new and different level. To help facilitate this journey, other Scriptures are provided for deeper reflection and one day each week is set aside for Scripture reading and reflection. As the reader makes her way along the dusty roads of Jerusalem to the Golgotha to witness the crucifixion of Jesus, the hope is to invite the reader into a deeper and more intimate relationship with Jesus. The thought-provoking observations encourage the reader also to see themselves in those they may not consider like them - Judas Iscariot, the Pharisees, Pontius Pilate, because even at our best, we all still have room to grow and become better versions of ourselves.
Autorenporträt
Judith Heaney is a writer who sees story not only in books and movies, but in the lives each of us has been given. In fact, she believes story is at the core of who we are and how we relate to the world ad each other. By looking at the world as a storyteller, she understands we not only intersect with the lives of others, but we have the opportunity to impact and influence another's story through our words and actions. It is her hope that the words she writes will encourage her fellow sojourners in this life to create and live out a story that reflects their best selves and inspires the best in others.
