The field of technical and vocational education is always evolving, new and more sophisticated machines like the computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools are being produced regularly and used by manufacturing industries, and this has caused a gap between technical colleges and manufacturing industries in Nigeria. The purpose of this study is to assess the skills possessed by the teachers of metalwork in the use of computer numerically controlled machine tools in technical colleges in Oyo State, Nigeria. A survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study comprised all the metalwork teachers in six technical colleges in urban and rural areas of Oyo State, Nigeria. A 58 item questionnaire was developed and used for collecting data. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for the research questions while t-test was used for testing the null hypotheses.
