Artificial intelligence systems had previously detected an unknown type of pneumonia in the People's Republic of China before the danger posed by coronavirus (COVID-19) had become known to the world. As the outbreak has become a global pandemic, the tools and technologies of A.I. will help policy-making, the medical community and society as a whole manage every stage of the crisis and its consequences: identification, prevention, response, recovery and acceleration of science. AI technologies and methods will enable policymakers and the health care community to understand the COVID-19 virus and promote therapeutic research through rapid analysis of comprehensive research data.
