Autorenporträt
Local historian and author Richard A. Duffy, an officer of the Arlington Historical Society and a commissioner on the Arlington Historical Commission, has crafted a thoughtfully composed and well-documented work. Casting a broad net across several public and private sources, he has drawn together a remarkable variety of photographs that capture the vibrancy of each era. The vast majority of the images used in Arlington have never before been published, including rare daguerreotypes and "magic lantern" slides. Mr. Duffy, popular lecturer and award-winning author of articles on local history, has created a book that will captivate both lifelong residents and first-time visitors. His authoritative text will certainly prove a valuable reference for generations to come.
