The Asia-Pacific Strategy for Emerging Diseases (APSED) was launched in 2005 as a five-year strategy to set a common framework for countries and areas of the Asia Pacific region to strategically strengthen core capacities needed to effectively prepare, detect and respond to threats posed by emerging infectious diseases. In this report, the results of the 2010 assessment are measured against 2007 baseline data to evaluate the progress of Member States towards achieving APSED minimum standards and core capacity requirement in the five APSED program areas.
