Climate change poses a threat to humanity by creating environmental and socio-economic challenges that nations, organizations, communities etc. will have to address. Developing countries suffer the most from the negative consequences of climate change. The Sahelian countries in particular are already confronted. Chad, which is one of the most vulnerable countries to the effects of climate change in partnership with the Giz-Ins in their GERTS program are developing watersheds in the Sahelian areas of the country. These developments consist in building spreading sills which are hydraulic structures for the retention of runoff water. Thus, the communities must take ownership of these achievements. As a result, several approaches have been adopted for the effective implementation of these hydraulic structures in the Amdabouka watershed in the Eastern Batha region of Chad. The relevance of these approaches must be emphasized.
