The research was carried out in the Recinto Las Mercedes Vía Los Bancos, Sector Unión Ecuatoriana, belonging to the Parish of Alluriquín, in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, with the objective of applying organic insecticides to corn (Zea mays) for the control of the budworm (Spodoptera frugiperda). A randomized complete block design was used, with four treatments and five replications. The treatments applied were T1 (Bacillus thuringiensis), T2 (Neem oil), T3 (garlic) and T4 (control). The variables evaluated were plant height, number of affected plants/treatment, and percentage of codling moth infestation. The results for plant height were highly significant for T1 (Bacillus thuringiensis) at 80 days after planting with an average of 213.3 cm, the average plant height, in the variable number of affected plants showed that T1 (Bacillus thuringiensis) presented the best result with only 4 plants affected during the trial, while T4 (control without application) presented the highest number of affected plants with 7.20, in the variable Percentage of budworm infestation.
